This area encompasses all issues related to the challenges facing rural roads, from planning and management, through legislation for their financing, maintenance technologies, user perspectives, road safety, and sustainable engineering. All of this is within the context of the fact that unpaved roads represent 85% of Argentina's total road network.
Regulatory and technical aspects will be considered, particularly regarding soil stabilization processes, as well as the evaluation of operating costs for road machinery specifically designed for different regions of the country. The study of applicable legislation in each region and sustainable financing for the growth and improvement of secondary and tertiary road networks will also be key components.
» THE AREA TOPICS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Planning and scheduling of low-traffic road networks
• Geometric design and associated hydraulics of tertiary road networks
• Local management in the development and maintenance of tertiary road networks
• Monitoring and control of weights and dimensions in unpaved road networks
• Road legislation applied to tertiary road networks
• Computer tools for the management of rural road networks
• Materials technology applied to soil stabilization and protective layers for improved road conditions
• User relationships with rural roads
• Sources of funding and financing for rural roads
• Road safety applied to low-traffic road networks
• Rural roads and their relationship to sustainable development
